"We use Freezerworks for a large multi-center study involving collection of several different types of samples including whole blood, genomic DNA, serum, plasma and buffy coats collected at several time points. Over 130,000 samples are stored in several types of freezers at many sites, each with their own particular layout. Each center found Freezerworks easy to set up and get running. A major advantage was the ability to set up several formats of data entry and then provide the formats to all sites. The reporting system is seamless and easy to follow. Staff training time was short and any questions were quickly and accurately answered by support personnel. For one major grant, reviewers intensively queried our mechanism for tracking samples. As soon as they heard we used Freezerworks the queries ended and the grant was funded. We love it."

Freezerworks FAQ

The print on the label from my Zebra printer is too light.

Check to make sure you are using the proper ribbon. Dataworks only recommends Zebra resin label Part Number 800009-004, Black Tie Part Number 138415 (Dataworks item number RIB-001), Brady R4301, or for portrait labels with the Zebra printers, Zebra part number 800130-101 (Dataworks item number RIB-002).

Below is a picture of the Zebra ribbon for portrait labels (Dataworks item number RIB-002).

For FreezerBonz labels, Brady recommends the R6401.

Also, Freezerworks works with the Thermal Transfer (TLP) 2742 and 2844, and not with a Direct Thermal (LP) 2742 or 2844.  Direct Thermal printers do not use ribbons.
